January 28th
I remember years ago I was flying San Francisco.  The plane had been delayed for over an hour before we finally got under way.  The pilot pushed the plane hard and I don't ever remember such a short flight to the bay area.  The pilot came on the intercom an said if you look out the left side of the plane you can see San Francisco.  That can only mean one thing, holding pattern.   Eventually we landed and reached our destination.  It didn't matter how hard the pilot tried to get us in on time there were greater forces working against him.
My point here is that we have put ourselves in a holding pattern.  We will eventually get there but for now all schedules have been canceled.  We are going to take a step back and just let it happen.
I have always been driven to succeed regardless of the task.  I have pushed too hard for too much, too soon.  If it takes an extra year or two that's ok If we decide we need a slightly larger boat that's ok.
For now we are going to continue to slowly work on the boat and go back to our fun lives.  We live in the Heart of the San Juan Islands and there is plenty to do right here.  We are also talking about through hiking the Wonder Trail and the Rim Trail this summer.
While I failed miserably at the budget I was on track till all of this happened.  It has helped to show where the money goes and how It is wasted.
Lizzie is ok and I am ok and eventually we will be ok.  For now we are just letting things happen.  On Sunday we are going to get walkie talkies and go into the woods and play army, or maybe climb a tree.  I don't care what we do, I would be happy going to the park and watching the grass grow.  Anything, as long as we do it together.   While there is no shortage of love we need to learn how to communicate better but that's a life long thing.
